FIELD: lifting equipment. SUBSTANCE: tension member (rope) has form coefficient of at least 1. Said coefficient is determined as rope width and thickness ratio. According to specific version of invention, rope has at least one load bearing cord enclosed in coating layer of non-metallic material. Rope is used in lifting system for transmitting of upward force to lift cabin. Rope of such structure may be used in lifting systems in conjunction with pulleys of smaller diameter.
