FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine operation control method and corresponding control device. Proposed method is implemented in control device including disk angular position pickup, ignition control action supply unit and comparator. Crankshaft angular position pulses are generated in synchronism with rotation of shaft by means of disk angular position pickup. Using ignition control action supply unit, angle corresponding to beginning of closed state of contacts of ignition system breaker is calculated in each segment corresponding to engine operation cycle. Said angle is determined as sum of number of crankshaft angular position pulses and remaining values of said angle. Using comparator, moment is determined in which number of angular position pulses reaches preset value. After that energizing of calculating device in ignition control action supply unit is provided. Said device determines, with due account of actual rotation speed, time required for turning crankshaft through angle corresponding to indicated remaining value. Immediately after said determination, time required for turning crankshaft through remaining angle is found by means of comparator and possibility is provided for beginning of accumulation of energy in ignition coil. Proposed method makes it possible to control operation of maximum number of cylinders and provided simple configuration of devices required for control.
