FIELD: mechanical engineering; electrical equipment of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: ignition system of gas internal combustion engine has control unit whose input is connected to engine crankshaft position signal shaper, at least one ignition coil and switch connected between control unit and ignition coil and furnished with step-up voltage converter with reservoir capacitor at output and at least one power transistor key. Proposed system is made for generation of pulse packets to control power transistor key through which ignition coil primary winding is connected with voltage converter output, and capacitance element forming oscillatory LC-circuit together with primary winding is connected in parallel with the latter. Duration of pulse packet is controlled automatically depending on engine rotation speed so that duration of mixture ignition in each cylinder is 20-50 degrees of crankshaft at all engine speeds. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and efficiency of operation of ignition system. 5 cl, 1 dwg
