FIELD: metallurgy, namely methods for making tubes by continuous or semi-continuous casting process.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing melt, feeding it into mold, casting tube blank, mechanically working its surface and drawing it. Tube blank is cast in plant for vertical casting in atmosphere of generator gas. Tube blank is subjected to secondary cooling in water due to pulling it through chamber with flow-through water whose flowing speed provides at outlet temperature of surface no more than 45 C. Tube blank is subjected to drawing on drawing drum by several stages. Mechanical working of tube blank is realized after first, second or third stage of tube drawing.
EFFECT: possibility for producing dense tube blank with uniform cast structure and smooth surface, lowered oxidation degree of tube surface.
