FIELD: metallurgy, namely methods for making tubes by continuous and semi-continuous casting processes.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing melt, supplying it into mold, casting tube blank, mechanically working its surface and drawing tube. Tube blank is cast from upwards downwards in plant for vertical casting in atmosphere of generator gas. Blank is subjected to secondary water cooling due to pulling it through chamber with flow-through water whose flowing speed provides temperature of surface at outlet no more than 45 C. Drawing of blank is realized in chain type drawing bench by several stages. Blank is subjected to mechanical working after first, second or third stage of drawing it. After termination of drawing process tube is straightened and cut by measured length pieces.
EFFECT: possibility for receiving dense blank with uniform cast structure and smooth surface, lowered oxidation degree of surface.
