FIELD: metallurgy, namely methods for making tubes by continuous or semi-continuous casting process.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing melt, feeding it to mold, casting tube blank, rolling and mechanically working it, then drawing blank. Tube blank is cast in plant for vertical casting in atmosphere of generator gas. Tube blank is subjected to secondary cooling in water due to passing it through chamber with flow-through water whose flowing speed provides temperature of surface at outlet no more than 45 C. Tube blank is mechanically worked after rolling and it is drawn by two stages in chain type drawing bench. After termination of drawing process tube blank is straightened and cut by measured length pieces.
EFFECT: possibility for making dense tube blank with uniform cast structure and smooth surface, lowered oxidation degree of tube surface.
