FIELD: oil producing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pumps for handling drilling mud. Proposed piston consists of axially symmetric housing of metal structure with central hole and grooves on outer part. Housing is made with middle dividing flange whose outer diameter d1 is smaller than outer diameter d of cylindrical part of piston, and axial holes are made in its base to pass material of sealing element made solid. Said sealing element has front conical and rear cylindrical sealing surfaces, being connected by curing to housing at both sides from and over dividing flange. Reinforcement elements are introduced into sealing element. Said reinforcement elements are rigid in tangential direction (being flexible in radial direction, if required) and are permeable for material of sealing element. Reinforcement elements, being adhesive, are monolithically coupled with material of sealing element and are arranged along sealing surface and end faces of flange. Outer part of reinforcement elements coincides with outer sealing surface of sealing element. Ring grooves are made on outer cylindrical surface of flange, and part of material of monolithic sealing element is arranged over said grooves. Rigid permeable reinforcement element are made in form of pair of truncated hollow cones changing into-L-section hollow cylinder with axial holes on radially arranged part and cylindrical sleeve located over cylindrical surface of dividing flange. Rigid permeable reinforcement elements are made of three-dimensional wire permeable material. In process of assembling, conical part deforms changing into cylindrical one. Such design of piston increases service life operation at high pressure and handling of liquids containing abrasives. Piston can be used in seals exposed to high working pressures and abrasive wear in different branches of industry.
