FIELD: mechanical engineering, in particular, sealing equipment for rotating shafts of machines and mechanisms.
SUBSTANCE: end sealing device is designed for rotary shaft having sealing contact defined by cooperating members of immovable and rotating units. Rotating unit has cartridge and first ring. Two symmetrically arranged projections are formed on cartridge circular end surface and fixed in first ring. Second ring is introduced into end sealing device. First ring is made from two half-circles with elongated central part formed as cylindrical projection. Cartridge projections are inserted into zones between half-circles, which are fixed on upper part of cartridge. Second ring is put onto cylindrical projection of half-circles and is provided with rib on its outer surface. Rib embraces outer surface of half-circles. Surface of contact of cylindrical projection of half-circles and ring is made conical with angle of inclination of 6-8 deg. Half-circles are provided with longitudinal slots and transverse bores. Half-circles have flange, which is introduced into circumferential cartridge slot to be fixed inside cartridge. Half-circles are tightened with second ring by, for example, bolts.
EFFECT: increased loading capacity and provision for reliable sealing of
rotary shafts having large diameter.
