FIELD: overhead smoke detectors, primarily optoelectronic ones, using horizontally ventilated smoke chambers.
SUBSTANCE: housing is formed by side and end walls for receiving horizontally ventilated smoke chamber in its central area so that its smoke passing holes are disposed opposite side wall of housing. The latter is provided with vertical partitions which divide housing into sections for horizontal and vertical flow of steam Horizontal smoke flow sections have holes in side wall of housing. Vertical steam flow sections have holes in end walls of housing and curvilinear ducts passing smoke from holes in end walls of housing to those in smoke chamber.
EFFECT: enhanced speed of direct smoke admission to smoke chamber irrespective of its spread, including from overhead space; reduced aerodynamic resistance to smoke flow.
