FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has branches having rings for receiving fingers on one end and with working jaws on the other on the other one. The branches overlap. They are joined with a hinge, have rack and pinion and are designed as parallel metal rods. The rods are 2 mm across and 50 mm long. The working jaws are on rod ends and form a through window together with the branches for bringing a needle with ligature. The working jaws are curved at right angle with curvature radius of 2 mm and spatula-shaped. A recess extends allover the internal working surface length as a groove of 11 mm width and 3 mm depth. External surface of a jaw has smooth streamline shape.
EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications; accelerated suture application process.
