FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: aluminate solution decomposition method in alumina production process comprises stirring aluminate solution at 45-70оС in presence of aluminum hydroxide seed and modifying additive followed by separating mother solution from aluminum hydroxide, said modifying additive being lithium carbonate used in amounts 0.10 to 0.30% on the weight of aluminum hydroxide precipitate thus obtained.
EFFECT: enabled preparation of elevated-size aluminum hydroxide.
