FIELD: chemical engineering industry.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with chemical engineering industry and may be used in production of elements of the heat-exchange apparatuses, heat-conducting carrying agents for catalysts and neutralizers of motor cars exhaust gases. The offered cellular-framework metal material contains volumetric discrete wire spiral elements, contacting to each other and made of the hollow conical and-or prismatic polygons and-or the bodies of revolution of different sizes. External diameters of the spiral elements are correlated from 1: 2 up to 1: 3 at the ratio of their lengths from 1: 1.5 up to 1: 5. The internal framework space makes from 65 up to 95 % of volume of the material. The density of the material makes 0.4-1.4 g / cm3. The method of production includes coiling a wire on a mandrel of polyhedral or a body of revolution type, cutting of the wire, acid treatment, compression by vibration up to the bulk density of 0.4-1.4 g / cm3, sintering at the temperature of 800-1300°С with a single or double-axial force application from 0.5 up to 10 kg / cm2 in the atmosphere with a controlled oxygen content within 1-4 hours with following refrigeration at a speed of 10-50°C/minute up to the ambient temperature. Technical result of the invention is achievement of a ratio of S/V in the interval of 26-32 cm2/cm3 at preservation of high porosity and mechanical strength of the material.
