FIELD: building industry, particularly for protection against moisture penetration, for drying and damp-proofing old building walls.

SUBSTANCE: method involves forming orifices in surface to be protected; installing electrodes in each second orifice, filling free orifices with mixture of hydrophobic liquid and 0.5 - 8% by weight of iron salt; applying potential in the range of 0.1 - 1.4 V with chequer-wise alternation of cathodes and electrodes over surface to be protected; drying building material or structure under the action of electric field which causes mass transfer of hydrophobic liquid particles and migration processes into hydrophobic liquid, wherein eletroosmosis process is intensified by adding iron salt to hydrophobic liquid due to generating iron hydroxide into alkaline medium of building materials, which muds material capillaries and porous for prolonged protection thereof against moisture penetration; applying magnetic field to protected surface so that with field lines of magnetic field are perpendicular to direction of migration flow in hydrophobic liquid. Optimal distance between electrodes is 20 - 50 sm.

EFFECT: increased intension, durability and quality of building material protection against moisture, improved impregnation uniformity and increased impregnation depth.
