FIELD: radioactive materials technology.
SUBSTANCE: when processing liquid radioactive waste, homogenous and boron-rich glass-forming solution is obtained by preliminarily adjusting concentrations of sodium, aluminum, and phosphorus in initial radioactive solution and introducing thus adjusted solution into feeder wherein solution is fluxed with homogenous and boron-rich flux at temperature not below 40±5оС to produce homogenous glass-forming solution containing, as glass formers, boron or boron and phosphorus. Thus prepared solution is then fed into vitrification furnace.
EFFECT: improved homogeneity of glass-forming solution and increased concentration of boron therein.
