FIELD: recovery of radioactive liquid wastes; immobilizing wastes by vitrifying them. SUBSTANCE: phosphate glass based glass-forming compound has in its composition sodium oxide, aluminum oxide, phosphate oxide, boron oxide, oxides of rare-earth metals, and corrosion products. Proportion of glass-forming compound ingredients is as follows, mass percent: Na2O-21-27, B2O3-3-9, P2O5-32-50, Al2O3-14-28,; total mass percent of metal oxides contained in wastes, including Al2O3-19-35. Proposed compound provides for producing homogeneous glass having high concentration of aluminum oxide and oxides of metals contained in wastes at glass-manufacturing temperature not over 1050 C. EFFECT: enhanced quality of homogeneous glass. 1 tbl
