Abstract RU 2231903 C2

FIELD: high-to-commercial voltage conversion at line power over hundreds of kilowatts.

SUBSTANCE: proposed voltage converter designed for operation in high-voltage lines up to 3000 V incorporating series-connected converter-inverter cells with primary winding of respective transformer connected to outputs of each cell and output rectifiers connected to secondary windings of mentioned transformers is provided with newly introduced bidirectional semiconductor power switch and surge limiters of converter-inverter cells affording their protection against surges occurring in high-voltage line. OFF-operation response time of converter to emergency situations due to inherent or external causes is 2 - 3 s. Provision is made for limiting converter input current in case of jump voltage applied to its input terminals.

EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of converter.
