FIELD: catalyst preparation technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention provides a method for preparing catalyst with improved catalytic properties, which method involves choice of carrier, reducing concentration of ionizable particles on the carrier surface, and applying catalytically effective amount of one or more catalytically active metals onto the carrier. Invention illustrates use of a thus prepared catalyst in alkene epoxidation processes. In examples, concentration of ionizable particles is reduced by washing α-alumina with boiling water followed by drying carrier and impregnating it with promoter and silver.
EFFECT: improved catalyst selectivity, activity, and stability.
