FIELD: processes for casting magnesium or its alloys.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of dispersing liquid melt of magnesium through openings of rotating perforated dispersing sleeve; cooling produced particles in shield atmosphere; using dispersing sleeve with height 150 - 200 mm and inner diameter 80 - 150 mm; providing openings with diameter 0.8 -1.5 mm mutually spaced by distance 3 - 5 mm in horizontal and vertical directions. Liquid melt is produced at temperature 680 - 750 C; particles are cooled at rate C/s. Revolution number of dispersing sleeve is selected in range 800 - 5000 rev/min. At process of feeding liquid melt, liquid flux on base of carnallite is supplied in quantity consisting 2 - 10% of melt quantity. Invention provides possibility for producing magnesium pellets and pellets of magnesium alloys with fraction size in range 315 - 2000 micrometers, mainly spherical or oval pellets at high crystallization rates (more than C/s), if necessary having protective coating.
EFFECT: possibility for producing pellets of magnesium and its alloys with predetermined content and surface quality.
