FIELD: production of metal granules from magnesium and its alloys. SUBSTANCE: the offered method consists in introduction of liquid metal into salt melt, dispersion of metal to produce granules and their separation from salt mixture. In so doing, liquid metal prior to its introduction into salt melt is exposed to effect of alternating electromagnetic force, and temperature of salt mix is maintained below the metal melting point. Value of electromagnetic force is selected so that regular pressure fluctuations produced in metal stream by the force have amplitude exceeding the pressure value produced in stream by forces of metal surface tension by more than 1.25 times, and length of wave of regular fluctuations exceeds the diameter of metal stream in point of introduction of metal into salt melt by 2.5-40 times.
