FIELD: composite materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foil-type decorative materials based on gold, silver, copper, and alloys thereof used for roofing of church cupolas, crosses, and for finishing exteriors and interiors of buildings. Invention provides laminated material comprising protective, adhesive, and decorative metallic layers. According to first embodiment of invention, material is made in the form of a foil wherein protective layer is made in the form of synthetic polymer film; adhesive layer is made from hot melt glue with melting temperature above 30оС or glue obtained on moistening with solvent or treatment with hardener, or glue based on butyl acrylate copolymer; and decorative layer can be made from copper, silver, gold, zinc, cadmium, aluminum, indium, tin, lead, antimony, bismuth, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, iron, cobalt, nickel, rhodium, iridium, palladium, platinum, or their alloys, metal or metal alloy composition further containing boron, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen, and oxygen in the form of their compounds. According to second embodiment, material is also made in the form of foil but, in addition to three above-indicated layers, it contains at least one reinforcing layer inserted between decorative and adhesive layers. Reinforcing layer is made from titanium nitride, iron, cobalt, titanium, silver, copper, gold, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, magnesium, indium, or their alloys, metal or metal alloy composition further containing boron, phosphorus, sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen, and silicon in the form of their compounds or fine inclusions. According to third embodiment, material is made in the form of foil and contains (i) adhesive layer including transparent protective layer located on adhesive layer and made on the base of copper or zinc phosphates, and/or silver or antimony chromates, and/or nickel oxide, and/or iron or nickel oxalates; (ii) at least one reinforcing metallic layer located on adhesive layer; (iii) transparent protective layer located on decorative layer and made from silicon oxide, and/or aluminum oxide, and/or titanium oxide, and/or zirconium oxide, and/or aluminum nitride, and/or diamond-like film; protective layer being made from synthetic polymer film.

EFFECT: improved workability, decorative characteristics, increased strength, corrosion resistance, and waterproofness.
