FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, in particular, obtaining of gallium from anode sludge produced upon electrolytic aluminum refining.
SUBSTANCE: method involves providing gallium oxidation resulted from melting of anode sludge at temperature of 1,180-1,2600C with the use of Na2CO3 and SiO2 flux and oxidizing additive, such as Cu20. Flux consumption is 70-120% by weight of anode sludge at Na2CO3 to SiO2 ratio of 2:(0.75-1). Copper oxide is added as oxidizer in an amount making 90-115% by weight of basic material. Method allows gallium extraction extent to be increased by about 30% and also blister copper to be produced.
EFFECT: increased efficiency in extracting of gallium into slag and provision for obtaining of blister copper.
