FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of fuel mixture preparation, mixture is subjected to treatment with catalyst simultaneously with exposure to action of magnetic field. Catalyst contains elements of 1, 7 and 8 groups of periodic system. Magnetic field is built by permanent magnets whose magnetic saturation is not less than 1.1 T. Device for preparation of fuel mixture contains housing accommodating permanent magnets with row of ferromagnetic plates placed between magnets and forming system of slots whose number is chosen to provide passage of required amount of fuel mixture. Magnets are installed to provide homogeneous magnetic field to cross movement of fuel mixture, and catalyst is applied to plates. Magnets and plates are enclosed in case made of gauze to surface of which catalyst is applied. Surfaces of magnets are also coated catalyst.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of operation of internal combustion engine, reduced content of toxic substances in exhaust gases.
