FIELD: production of ice of a particular transparency or translucency.

SUBSTANCE: ice generator includes body, evaporator connected to freezing system, bearing frame with a number of cells for receiving water to be frozen and freezing support plate. Evaporator is arranged on freezing plate. Freezing fingers formed on lower surface of freezing plate are deepened into water introduced into freezing cells. Ice generator also includes air evacuation means for filling cells with water with the purpose of air bubbles removal from water and, as a result, for obtaining transparent ice pieces. Air evacuation means includes water line arranged on bearing frame and connected with freezing cells, water tank communicating with water line and filled with water from remote source and pressing means for repeatedly applying pressure to water tank for water moving from water tank to each freezing cell.

EFFECT: reduced time of ice pieces obtaining due to increased speed of water freezing.
