FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to gene encoding protein of mass 120 kDa from Ehrlichia canis wherein this gene is amplificated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using primers originating from DNA sequences flanking gene that encodes the protein of mass 120 kDa from Ehrlichia chaffeensis. The recombinant protein of mass 120 kDa from E. canis comprises 14 tandem repeated units being each of that consists of 36 amino acids. These repeating units show hydrophilic properties and as suggested they are surface-exhibited ones. The recombinant protein of mass 120 kDa from E. canis shows antigenic properties and reacts with serum produced in dogs recovering after canine ehrlichiosis disease. Invention provides inhibiting infection causing with Ehrlichia canis by administration of the composition containing E. canis antigen.
EFFECT: valuable medicinal properties of protein.
