FIELD: chemistry; biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bioengineering and is an isolated polynucleotide which codes insecticidal proteins Bacillus thuringiensis or its insecticidal fragment which is toxic to coleopterous insects. The said polynucleotide forms crossbreeds in severe crossbreeding conditions with one or nucleotides of sequences selected from a group consisting of SEQ ID NO:2, SEQ ID NO:3 (tic901), SEQ ID NO:5 (tic1201). SEQ ID NO:7 (tic407) and SEQ ID NO:9 (tic417) or with their complement. The invention also relates to coleopterous insect control method which involves bringing the insect into contact with an insecticidal amount of the said protein.
EFFECT: invention provides efficient coleopterous insect control.
