FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; manufacture of blast tuyeres for blast furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: proposed tuyere made from aluminum or its alloy includes members for intensification of cooling; outer surface of housing and surface of blast channel are provided with protective coats made from aluminum oxide at thickness no less than 0.5 mm. In the course of manufacture of tuyere, protective coats are applied by oxidation in electrolyte at gradual increase of final voltage to 800-1000 V at current density of 4-5 A/sq dm.
EFFECT: increased service life of tuyeres; increased overhaul period; increased output of blast furnace.
