FIELD: communication systems; satellite communication systems and navigation.

SUBSTANCE: signal under test is divided into two equal components; one component is converted in phase and other is converted as quadrature. Square of filtered quadrature signal is subtracted from square of filtered in-phase signal and complex signal is formed at actual part equal to difference signal and imaginary part equal to product of filtered in-phase signal and quadrature signal amplified by two times. Then, Fourier image is calculated; argument of maximum of Fourier image signal is also calculated in area of negative frequencies and maximum of Fourier image signal in area of positive frequencies. Doppler shift of frequency is determined as quarter of sum of found arguments of maximum.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency; avoidance of information a prior.
