FIELD: SHF measurement, possibly development of instruments and systems for determining parameters of SHF-devices and for antenna measurements.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of creation of different exciting modes of measured object through two 12-pole reflectometer including mode of two single-side driving of measured object by means of amplitude-modulated signal and measuring by means of reflectometers ratio ρ of complex amplitudes of reflected b and incident α waves at inlets of measured device; at measuring exciting measured object at side of first reflectometer by means of amplitude-modulated signal and at side of second reflectometer by non-modulated signal and vice versa; determining ρ22

related to determined S-parameters by given relations; at exciting measured object by means of non-modulated signal at side of first reflectometer and by means of amplitude-modulated signal at side of second reflectometer, determining ρ21
related to determined S-parameters by relations also given in claims of invention. Apparatus for performing the method includes SHF generator whose outlet is connected with power divider; two amplitude modulators (one is connected to first outlet of power divider and other is connected with second outlet of power divider); two 12-pole reflectometers (inlet of each reflectometer is connected with outlet of respective amplitude modulator and outlet serves as inlet for connecting investigated SHF four-terminal network); two SHF-gates, each gate is connected between outlet of voltage modulator and inlet of respective amplitude modulator.

EFFECT: increased dynamic range of measurements, enlarged functional possibilities.
