SUBSTANCE: controlled surface of pipe is lighted while rotating pipe around its axis, and by means of video cameras an image is formed with later computer processing. Concurrently with rotation the pipe is transferred along longitudinal axis at speed Vt = 0.01 - 0.02 m/sec, while frame synchronization of image is performed along with reading of marking symbols on controlled surface, pipe rotation is performed at speed Vp= 0.1 - 1.0 sec-1, and lighting is performed by monochromatic light.
EFFECT: higher reliability of reading and recognition of image with concurrent lessening of image distortions.
