FIELD: manufacture of superconducting materials for electrical engineering and other fields of science and technology.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for manufacturing Nb3Sn base semiconductors that can be used to produce miscellaneous superconducting magnetic systems includes formation of primary multiple-fiber blank by disposing Nb-containing bars in Cu-Sn alloy can, deformation of blank, and formation of multiple-fiber blank by disposing bars obtained from primary multiple-fiber blank in copper or Cu-Sn alloy can; during formation of primary multiple-fiber blank Nb-containing bars are separated by placing Cu-Sn alloy bars between them; wall thickness of can for primary multiple-fiber blank is chosen between 0.5 and 0.8 of minimal distance between closest Nb-containing bars. As an alternative, in forming primary multiple-fiber blank Nb-containing bars are integrated in blocks by disposing Cu-Sn alloy bars between them, and wall thickness of can for primary multiple-fiber blank is chosen between 0.5 and 0.8 of minimal distance between closest Nb-containing bars beyond integrated clock. Superconductor produced in the process is characterized by uniform disposition of fibers in its cross-sectional area and by increase in critical density of superconductor by 13 - 30% in 12 T field.
EFFECT: improved uniformity of fiber distribution and enhanced critical current density of superconductor.
