FIELD: electrical engineering; manufacturing insulators and insulating bodies.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes winding of impregnated binding fabric onto arbor. Fabric is pre-dried at temperature of 120 - 150 °C, placed in vacuum chamber at pressure of 10-3 - 10-2 mm of mercury up to complete degassing, then chamber is filled with binding material, pre-treated fabric is wound on arbor, whereupon part is subjected to heat treatment to polymerize binding material. As fabric is wound on arbor, it is pressed to the latter by means of loosely revolving roller. Fabric may be wound in two or three layers and is conveyed to arbor from more than one roll with joints fully insulated. Insulators of any desired longitudinal and transverse dimensions can be manufactured in this way.
EFFECT: enhanced mechanical and electric strength of insulators.
