FIELD: wireless digital communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method primarily uses "access test maximum" directive to find out if there is unbalance caused by failure of backward link. Condition of access test maximum shows that wireless device tried to make access to base station for predetermined maximum of times. This method preferably uses directive of paging channel loss and lapse of time of traffic channel initialization to find out if there is unbalance in communication line caused by failure of forward link. If wireless device has not lost paging channel, channel traffic is checked for lapse of time of traffic channel initialization. If wireless device has lost paging channel or it has not lost paging channel but traffic channel initialization time has elapsed, cause of forward communication channel failure is found. There may be two probable causes, as follows: (1) wireless device is disposed at great distance from base station, or (2) paging channel is under impact of heavy noise. Upon detection of cause of unbalance instruction is passed to wireless device either to transfer service to adjacent base station or to quit digital system.
EFFECT: facilitated detection of cause of unbalance.
