FIELD: processes for producing submicron nickel powders widely used in electronic industry branches for making laminate capacitors and filtering members.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of decomposing nickel formate in liquid organic medium such as benzyl alcohol at relation of mass of benzyl alcohol to nickel formiate no less than 2 : 1 at temperature 195 - 205 C. Invention provides production of non-pyrophoric submicron powder of nickel containing at least 99 mass % of nickel with mean fraction size in range 0.05 -0.08 micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of method.
