FIELD: production of powders for plasma spraying.
SUBSTANCE: finely-dispersed gadolinium oxide powder is dissolved in nitric acid and reverse sedimentation is performed by mixing the gadolinium solution at concentration of 95-105 g/l with ammonium solution at concentration of 10-12 M at excess of 1.2-1.5 of stoichiometry. Then, washing-off of hydroxide is performed, after which finely-dispersed gadolinium oxide powder is introduced at size of particles lesser than 40 mcm in the amount of 10-15% by mass (in terms of dry oxide). Then, hydroxide is cooled to 0 C and is frozen, thawed and filtered. Moist gadolinium oxide powders are treated in drum-type granulator having perforated housing. Holes in drum housing are closed on side of powder by screen at mesh of 80 mcm.
EFFECT: increased yield of powder per cycle; increased fluidity of powder.
