FIELD: mechanical and space engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has cylindrical housing and race with members for locking rod, which connects the parts to be separated. A pyrotechnic drive is used for the axial movement of the housing with respect to the race, which results in loosing the rod. The device, in particular, has cylindrical hollow bushing and step-shaped piston. The bushing is rigidly secured to one of the parts to be separated and embraces the nut of the means for securing the device to individual parts. The piston is mounted for movement and is spring-loaded inside the nut, thus interacting with the locking balls. The nut is made of a cylinder with the stem and ring outer bearing flange. Balls are mounted in the openings of the stem. The flange interacts with the face of the hollow bushing and spring. For standard separation of the parts of an article, the pyrotechnic drive moves the housing with respect to the race, thus loosing these parts.
EFFECT: expandable functional capabilities.
