FIELD: analytical chemistry of organic compounds; estimation of content of organic compounds by gas-and-liquid column-type chromatography.
SUBSTANCE: sample to be analyzed is acidified to pH= 1-2 and volatile fraction of phenols is distilled together with water vapor. Phenols are extracted and gas chromatographic detection is performed with creosol used as internal standard. Silicon oil applied on polychromium 1 is used as immovable phase at gas chromatographic detection and nitrogen is used as movable phase. Extraction of phenols is performed by diethyl ester or by sorption-desorption method passing the sample through column filled with polystyrene MN-200.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination; extended field of application.
