METHOD FOR PREDICTING RENAL PATHOLOGY IN CHILDREN LIVING IN REGION OF HIGH ANTHROPOGENIC LOAD WITH HEAVY METALS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2234251 C1

FIELD: medicine, pediatrics.

SUBSTANCE: in children one should detect complex of amnestic and clinico-laboratory factors: availability of professional harm in their parents at their work, inheritance level on pathology in urinary organs, development of renal functional disorders, availability of combined digestive, cardiovascular, nervous and endocrine pathology, hypotonia, microhematuria, decreased anticrystalloforming urinary capacity, hyperoxaluria, hyperaminoaciduria, ethanolaminuria, beta-2-microglobulinuria, increased circulating immune blood complexes, degree of sensitization to heavy metals, decreased blood level of cortisol, content of chromium, manganese, lead, cadmium and cobalt in patient's hair and urine to calculate the sum of diagnostic coefficients. At increased cytotoxic index to heavy metals being above 0.15 and decreased cortisol level in blood serum by 2 times in combination with accumulation of nephrotoxic heavy metals in biomedia and the sum of diagnostic coefficients being equal to =70 and more one should detect the risk for development of nephropathy. The method enables to detect children with high risk for development of renal pathology and carry out preventive measures in due time.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
