FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology.
SUBSTANCE: roentgenologically one should detect the site of distractor's rod damage to provide surgical access. Then one should cool a hollow tube made of titanium nickelide with a longitudinal groove by applying chloroethane, partially spread and embrace rod's grooves at the site of its rupture. Previous tube's shape should be restored as a result of contact heating by fixing the rod at rupture's level.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of therapy, decreased traumaticity of operation.
