DEVICE WITH SHAPE MEMORY FOR BONE TISSUE DISTRACTION OF ALVEOLAR CREST AND METHOD OF ITS USE BEFORE IMPLANT PROSTHETICS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00

Abstract RU 2713939 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine, namely to surgical dentistry, and is intended for use in dental implantation. Device with shape memory for bone tissue distraction of alveolar crest is made in the form of two parallel plates made of titanium nickelide alloy, which, at body temperature in the activated state, are two parallel plates rigidly joined at the ends, in the central part of which there is an elongated olive-shaped opening repeating the required volume and parameters of the alveolar process, into which the implant is to be inserted. To use the device, before prosthetic repair on the implants, the patient under local anesthesia is incision of the mucosa and periosteum within the atrophied area of bone tissue of the alveolar process, followed by cooling the device with parallel straightening of the plates to a state of flat parallelism, inserting the device into the bone tissue along a median line of the alveolar process, which is planned to be expanded by a device for subsequent implantation, after which the mucous-periosteal flap is brought back into place, sutures are applied, then under the influence of patient's body temperature device gradually, namely, in a time interval of up to three months, recovers a given olive form, providing a smooth and non-traumatic dilating effect on surrounding bone structures, thereby restoring a form of the alveolar process suitable for implantation of an implant, then, the device is removed, for which an incision is performed under anesthesia, the device is removed, then the implant is inserted using classical technology and materials.

EFFECT: inventions allow increasing the volume of bone tissue in the implantation area, reducing the area of the surgical wound and the volume of the surgical intervention.
