FIELD: medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has two or more segments and connection means. The connection means bind adjacent segments in detachable way so that the adjacent stent segments are detachable one from the other under physiological load action applied separable connection means. Division takes place in some time after implanting stent into blood vessel. This time period is enough for stent to embed into tissue layer of new internal blood vessel lining. After being separated, the segments have strength enough for resisting compression in radial direction. Segment ends remain smooth. Device has at least two segments in the second embodiment and at least one connection to be separated. The connection to be separated has cross-section area being less than that of component in one of stent segments. The last embodiment version is distinguished in that the device has at least two segments in the second embodiment and at least one connection to be separated. The connection is manufactured from material of less strength than component material in one of stent segments.
EFFECT: corresponding flexibility of stent and blood vessel with small or no strength reduction in radial direction.
