FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has strip spirally wound as a number of winding coils having longitudinal axis. The strip has at least two lateral strips each shaped as serpentine having a number of curved segments. At least two lateral strips are connected to each other with crosspieces. The crosspieces are not id exactly perpendicular relation to the longitudinal axis of the strip. When opening the stent, the curved segments of at least two lateral strips unbend increasing the strip length in the spiral winding rotation direction so that stent opening causes no significant unrolling of the strip. The strip has at least two lateral strips building serpentine pattern and crosspieces joining the lateral strips. The crosspieces are optionally arranged at an angle relative to the direction being in perpendicular relation to the longitudinal axis of the strip. Another embodiment involves producing stent from a strip spirally wound as a row of strip coils formed from a series of square cells the sides of which are compressed in closed state building continuous serpentine member. EFFECT: enabled longitudinal flexibility enough for transporting stent via curved blood vessel tubes; retained blood vessel shape after having opened stent. 20 cl, 8 dwg
