FIELD: medical equipment, mainly, stents which serve is internal prostheses implanted in vessels inside the organism such as the blood vessels, for the support and keeping open the vessels or for fastening and support of other prostheses in vessels. SUBSTANCE: the stent is made in the form of a strip spirally twisted in a row of strip spires having at least two side interconnected edges, each of the side edges is made in the form of a coil including a series of bends ensuring the increase of the stent diameter without increasing its length and without untwisting the strip. The side edges in the form of a coil may be interconnected by lateral posts. The adjoining bends at least on two side edges made in the form of coils may also be connected by lateral posts. The adjoining bends each connected by a lateral post face opposite sides. At least two side edges are connected by lateral posts with periodic intervals, and each of them has at least one bend between the successive lateral posts. The lateral posts are made straight or gave bends and may be positioned mainly perpendicularly to the spiral spires formed by the strip. The strip has two ends, and on both strip ends the side edges may meet each other so that the strip ends become sharp. The strip may have two ends positioned on two respective ends of the stent, and each of the strip ends is connected to the joined spire of the stent by welding. The stent may be manufactured of a strip preliminarily manufactured by its winding in the form of a spiral. EFFECT: provided flexibility of the stent in the longitudinal direction with provision of a relative stability of the stent proper. 14 cl, 7 dwg
