FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves applying narrow horizontal beam of heavy nuclear particles (andrones: protons, multi-charge ions, pi-minus-mesons or neutrons). A patient is exposed. The patient is reliably fixed using special purpose device like thin-walled rigid shell with airtight sacks containing small granules and retaining surface shape for a long period. The patient body is rotated in arbitrary body symmetry axis position.
EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in examining tumor location.
