SUBSTANCE: tube includes two horizontal, two vertical and two end walls and it is filled with heat insulation material. One horizontal wall is secured to vertical walls by means of joint such as piano hinges. Both end walls are extension of horizontal wall with said hinges but they have no contact with other walls of tube and are provided with single-side dent extending outside height of tube. Transition of horizontal wall having piano hinges to end walls is radial. Outside height of tube said single-side dents have thickened parts. Electric insulation material is placed in gap between vertical and end walls of tube. Method for repairing tube if its horizontal wall with piano hinges is damaged comprises steps of superimposing sheet of material similar to that of tube onto said wall; welding-on sheet along its edges.

EFFECT: enhanced active heat insulation providing conditions for stable temperature-deformation-speed rolling modes in finish rolling stands.
