FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, namely production of aluminum by electrolysis.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of keeping temperature of electrolyte equal to 950-960 C; sustaining level of electrolyte 15 -22 cm, level of metal 8 - 15 cm and cryolite relation of electrolyte 2.2 - 2.3; performing electrolysis process at working voltage of cell 4.1 - 4.4 V and anode electric current density 0.83 - 0.9 A/sq. cm. Invention provides improved efficiency of cell at electric current intensity 85 -92 kA.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cell with fired anodes, lowered specific consumption of raw material and energy.
