FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to electrolytic production of aluminum, particularly, to control method of electrolysis of aluminum. Method comprises controlling an interpolar distance (IPD) and content of aluminum fluoride (AlF3) in an electrolyte, measuring and calculating process parameters, comparison of measured values of process parameters with given values and correction of additive to voltage setting and additive of aluminum fluoride, where there is an interconnected calculation of voltage control actions to maintain temperature of electrolyte and excess AlF3 in electrolyte near optimum values taking into account current state of electrolysis cell and required change of amount of heat for transfer of electrolysis unit from one thermal state to another in form of dependence of surface function ΔU(KO, T).
EFFECT: operation of electrolytic cell with minimum voltage without reducing current output to reduce power consumption, due to stabilization of the heat-and-power state of the electrolysis cell, variations of process parameters are reduced, which increases efficiency of the electrolysis cell.
