FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, in particular to production of aluminium alloy with rare-earth metals, and can be used for production of aluminium alloy with 0.2-0.4 wt% scandium in conditions of industrial production of aluminium. Method of electrolytic production of aluminium alloy with scandium content of 0.2-0.4 wt% involves adding scandium oxide to cryolite-alumina melt containing aluminium, and reduction of scandium oxide by electrolysis of cryolite-alumina melt, containing aluminium and scandium oxide, wherein scandium oxide is added to melt in amount of 1.5-3.1 wt%, wherein total concentration of scandium oxide and aluminium oxide formed during electrolysis is maintained in range of 2.0-4.5 wt% by periodic addition of scandium oxide melt, wherein aluminium alloy obtained during electrolysis with given content of scandium is periodically discharged.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at continuous production of aluminium alloy containing 0,2-0,4 wt% scandium, due to reduction in melt of aluminium oxide formed during aluminothermic reaction.
