FIELD: railway transport; permanent way.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to track-side automatic control devices. Proposed electric drive includes module with electric motor, "lead screw-nut" pair transmitting translational motion to switch points through point tie-rods, and closing part designed for fixing points in position and made in form of clamp mechanism. Moreover, device is provided for external closing of points consisting of shaped bars and lever-shaped locking unit and diagnostic system of switch. Module is arranged in space between ties and is made in form of electric driving set including electric motor and mechanically closing set including "lead screw-nut" pair and closing part, both sets are interconnected by shaft transmitting rotation of sets. Each set is arranged in separate housing. Housing of sets are made for separate fastening on ties. Electric driving set is located at side of rail gauge.

EFFECT: improved repairability of electric drive and its reliability, reduced time of delay of train in case of failure of electric drive.
