FIELD: plasma cutting of rolled sheets in different industry branches.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of heating cut metal by means of electric arc stabilized with use of stream of plasma-generating gas passing through round cross section nozzle of plasmotron; moving nozzle in direction of cutting; performing heating at current intensity of electric arc in range 300 - 500 A, at flow rate of plasma-generating gas (1.8 - 2.2)10-3 cub. m /s and at relation of nozzle duct diameter to its length in range 0.42 - 0.93; setting sped of nozzle motion depending upon thickness of rolled sheet according to next expression: V = A x H2 + B x H + C where A, B, C - constant coefficients equal respectively A = 0.0337, B = -1.3478 and C = 18.59 for H less than 20 mm or equal to 20 mm and for H more than 20 mm A = 0.0058, B = -0.5922, C = 15.98.
EFFECT: enhanced quality of cutting, lowered metal consumption.
