FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing (nitroxymethyl)phenyl esters of derivatives of salicylic acid of the formula (I):
wherein R1 means OCOR3 wherein R3 means methyl, ethyl or linear or branched (C3-C5)-alkyl; R2 means hydrogen atom. Method involves the following stages: a) reaction of halide-derivative of salicylic acid with hydroxybenzyl alcohol in the presence of a base in organic solvent; b) nitration of prepared product under anhydrous conditions in inert organic solvent with boiling point below 200oC under atmosphere pressure with mixture of nitric acid and other inorganic acid, or organic acid, or anhydride of one or two organic acids; c) isolation of the end product. Invention provides reducing by-side reactions in carrying out the synthesis.
EFFECT: reduced cost of process, enhanced yield of product.
